A Moment of Pride and Recognition
On June 10, 2025 marked a significant milestone in our journey as AGRIRESEARCH UNGUKA Ltd was honored as a top partner in the prestigious EU horticulture project "Catalyzing market prospects for Horticulture small holders and MSMEs." This recognition, presented by our implementation partners Tearfund and African Evangelistic Enterprise (AEE), celebrates our commitment to transforming Rwanda's agricultural landscape through innovative research and strategic partnerships.
The project's remarkable impact speaks volumes about the power of collaboration – serving over 30,000 targeted beneficiaries across Rwanda's agricultural sector. This achievement represents more than numbers; it embodies lives transformed, communities empowered, and sustainable futures secured.

Beyond
Recognition: Our Strategic Contribution
Our partnership in this transformative project went
far beyond traditional collaboration. AGRIRESEARCH UNGUKA Ltd brought
specialized expertise in two critical areas:
Climate-Smart Agricultural Training
We led comprehensive training programs for project
staff, focusing on mainstreaming climate-smart agricultural practices. In an
era where climate change poses unprecedented challenges to African agriculture,
our approach ensures that every intervention is both environmentally
sustainable and economically viable.

Green Incubation Excellence
Our collaboration extended to the innovative Green
Incubation Program, a cornerstone of our Agricultural Green Research and
Innovation Park Initiative (AGRIPI) – Rwanda's first-ever agricultural research
and innovation center. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to nurturing
the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs who will drive Rwanda's green
economy forward.
To date, in partnership with AEE Rwanda, we've
successfully graduated 13 exceptional young entrepreneurs through
our six-month incubation program - 6 visionary graduates in 2023 and 7
innovative minds in 2024. But what makes this program truly remarkable is not
just the numbers; it's the transformation we witness.
These young innovators didn't just come with ideas -
they graduated with fully operational companies that are actively contributing
to Rwanda's agricultural sector. Each graduate received seed funding to grow
their business, ensuring their transition from concept to commercial success.
The Gwiza Initiative: A Story of Unity and
Strength
Perhaps our most inspiring success story is the Gwiza Initiative Company, where something extraordinary happened. The seven young entrepreneurs from our 2024 cohort, recognizing the power of collaboration over competition, joined hands to form one strong, unified company. This remarkable partnership demonstrates how our incubation program fosters not just individual success, but collective impact.

What sets these young entrepreneurs apart is their
unwavering focus on environmental sustainability, particularly their innovative
approaches to creating compost and organic fertilizers. Their vision aligns
perfectly with Rwanda's commitment to becoming a green economy leader in
Africa, proving that sustainable business practices and profitability can go
hand in hand.
A
Legacy of Excellence
This latest recognition adds to our growing list of
achievements:
- 2022 & 2024: Best
Research Exhibitor at National Rwanda Agriculture Show
- 2023: Best Youth Exhibitor at National Rwanda
Agriculture Show
- 2025: Top Partner in EU Horticulture
Project
Each award represents not just individual
achievement, but our collective commitment to excellence in agricultural
research, innovation, and implementation.
AGRIRESEARCH UNGUKA Ltd stands as living proof that
agriculture is no longer an "old man's game." As Rwanda's first
youth-led agricultural research and extension company, we've shattered
stereotypes and demonstrated that young minds can drive agricultural
transformation.
Our success story is inspiring a new generation of
agricultural entrepreneurs who see farming not just as a livelihood, but as a
pathway to innovation, sustainability, and economic prosperity.
Multi-Stakeholder
Collaboration: The Key to Success
The EU horticulture project recognition highlights
our excellence in multi-stakeholder collaboration. Working alongside Tearfund,
AEE, and various government agencies, we've demonstrated that transformative
agricultural development requires diverse partnerships and shared vision.
Our collaborative approach ensures that research
findings translate into real-world solutions, that innovations reach the
farmers who need them most, and that sustainable practices become the norm
rather than the exception.
A
Call to Action
This recognition belongs not just to AGRIRESEARCH
UNGUKA Ltd, but to every farmer we've trained, every entrepreneur we've
mentored, and every partner who has joined us on this journey. Together, we're
proving that sustainable agriculture is not just possible – it's profitable,
scalable, and essential for our future.
As we move forward, we invite more stakeholders to
join us in this agricultural revolution. Whether you're a young entrepreneur
with innovative ideas, a development partner seeking impact, or a farmer ready
to embrace climate-smart practices, there's a place for you in our growing
community.
The future of agriculture is green, young, and full
of possibilities. At AGRIRESEARCH UNGUKA Ltd, we're not just participating in
this future – we're actively creating it.
