Pomato: Doubling Harvests on a Single Graft

Assessment of compatibility, growth, and yield of Tomato grafted on Irish Potato (Pomato) in Musanze District. This research ensures land use efficiency by enabling a double harvest — both potato and tomatoes — from a single plant through grafting techniques. Our test plots successfully demonstrated that smallholder farmers can produce tomato crops on top and potato tubers below, maximizing output in limited highland farm sizes.
